We remind you earlier that we talked about how the SpyBuster service works on Mac computers and a browser extension that performs the same functions and reports possible malicious connections to Russian servers.
How does it work
- Created SpyBuster for iOS Detecting and removing programs originating from Russia or Belarus and also connecting to servers in these countries.
- The app scans the iPhone for potentially unwanted services and notifies the user if any are found.
- After the scan is complete, the user will see on the screen a list of unwanted programs, if any, on their device.
- The tool allows you to fully learn Why is the marked program suspicious?and explains how to remove it from your iPhone.
- SpyBuster can also set the detection level between minimum and maximum. SpyBuster looks at a number of indicators that could mean an app is potentially unwanted, from simple things like the “ru” in the app bundle ID to the less obvious like apps that are only available in two languages, one in Russian.
- The developer allows you to find the entire list of indicators against which applications are analyzed. To do this you can go to Settings and ask “How does SpyBuster work?” you can select the menu.
As the company states, SpyBuster is a preventative tool that will help detect and block apps and web pages from connecting to servers in Russia or Belarus. In the first, for example, in 2016, laws were passed requiring communication providers to store users’ personal data for 6 months, including the content of voice calls, images and text messages. The law also requires that metadata such as sender and recipient information, time of sending and location of the person be retained for three years. All this can be used against the user himself.
SpyBuster for iOS is available on the App Store and is supported by iPhones running iOS 14.0 or later.
