Chinese technology company Xiaomi is working on the production of the first electric car. The company has received a new patent for an electric car. The patent concerns the design of the Xiaomi electric car and was filed in 2019.
There is no indication yet of the possible release date of the Xiaomi electric car, but the patent documents detail the design of the SUV or sedan with some changes. Another patent for Xiaomi’s wide-angle camera modules for electric vehicles was filed late last year and was approved this week. According to the patent, the camera system will capture wide-angle images and includes several modules.
According to Xiaomi, the Xiaomi electric car does not have the traditional open side mirrors to increase the power reserve. While the front of the vehicle has an aerodynamic and elegant design, we expect the vehicle’s platform to be driven by a technology company. The cameras are located at the top of the vehicle and contain three sensors that provide a comprehensive view of the surroundings. Camera configuration helps eliminate blind spots and increase overall safety. Xiaomi’s patented camera will help improve your driving experience by providing a complete view of the surrounding car while driving.
The new patent joins Xiaomi’s long list of nearly 800 car patents. When the company finally launches its first electric car, we hope the car will be competitively priced and compete well with current models. It may only be a matter of time before we finally see the Xiaomi electric car. Xiaomi’s current 830 patents now cost hundreds of millions of dollars. Source
