The trickle of information about GTA 6 continues, the highly anticipated game about which we already know some important details. Rockstar is focused on this project and has concentrated all its resources on its development, knowing that it will be its flagship product and that it has to launch something big that will exceed the expectations of all fans. It is not easythat’s obvious, but seeing the excellent work they’ve done with GTA V deserves it a little confidence.

The last information we saw about GTA 6 said that it could be a next-gen exclusive title, that it would arrive sometime in 2024 or 2025, and that it would compatible with technologies that we consider today to be a new generationi.e. DirectStorage to speed up loading, ray tracing to improve graphics quality and probably also with the main upscaling technologies we know i.e. NVIDIA DLSS, AMD FSR 2.0 and Intel XeSS.

According to new information from Bloomberg, a trusted source, Rockstar will keep the same approach we saw in GTA V and use multiple protagonists to tell the story, but will introduce an important change in this regard, namely GTA 6 will be the third title in the franchise to feature a female protagonistspecifically a Latina who will be part of a “Bonnie and Clyde” style duo.

Yes, we thought there would be a third, because actually this saga already had other heroines, although it was many years ago and it is likely that not all of our readers remember it. I’m talking about characters like Katie, Mikki and Divine from the first GTA (1997) as well as others like Candy and Gretchen who appeared in GTA II (1999). We could also include Catalina from GTA III, so no, GTA 6 won’t be the first game with a female lead.

Another detail that has emerged is that Rockstar will focus on GTA 6 as more politically correct game, something that, if confirmed, could make fans of the franchise quite angry. It’s up for debate, really, but I think it all boils down to something very simple in the end, which is that video games are fictions that can afford absurd and fun licenses. They don’t need to be realistic or politically correct.

As for the setting, we still don’t have anything clear, but several rumors suggest that GTA 6 will take place a kind of modern Vice City, that the story will revolve around the confrontation between drug dealers and that this game will give us a huge world that will evolve as we play. I can tell you something more, we will be attentive to future leaks, although I already assume that we will not need a next-gen PC to play GTA 6, I believe that a 6-core and 12-thread CPU, 16 GB of RAM and a GeForce RTX 3050 or Radeon RX 6600 will more than enough.
