What's up?

WhatsApp, as it turned out, is working on a function that is one of the most anticipated in terms of privacy, and undoubtedly long alleged users can hide when they are online. When implemented, it will allow the activity state to be completely hidden, something that was not possible in the app until now.

In recent years, WhatsApp has become the perfect messaging service in the world. As its user base continues to grow, the Meta-owned app is constantly adding changes and new features to improve the user experience.

Despite the variants added, there is one feature that has long been part of other apps and is not in service: the ability to hide that a user is connected. Eventually, WhatsApp would include it.

How to hide if you are online on WhatsApp

Information announced by private site WABetaInfo. The feature is currently in beta version 2.22.16.14 and is not available to Android or iOS users, but is expected to be available to everyone in the near future.

The new option will be included in the privacy settings. Unlike the one shown in this section, the ability to configure will appear in a menu called “Last time and online”.

There, users will be able to choose who they allow to see their last connection time and online status. Possibilities include showing this information to everyone, that only people can see it, certain people, or no one can access it. Regarding the “online” state, the user will be able to choose between being visible to everyone or adopting the same configuration at the “last connection” time.

  • Comrade mode, new functionality that WhatsApp will include

It is important to remember that you can already decide not to show the time of the last connection, or only people can see it. The same goes for the profile picture. This new functionality will be an addition to the above mentioned possibilities.

The update’s release date is not yet known, as the new option is still in development and there is no estimate of when it will exit test mode. In addition to what was already mentioned, the new version will allow WhatsApp’s status to be activated so everyone can see it.

“Companion mode”: new WhatsApp feature

This is not the only function that WhatsApp surprises its customers with. Meta is also working on adding a feature called “companion mode” to the messaging service. It’s about being able to associate the account with another mobile device without the need for an Internet connection on the main mobile phone. In this way, a user can choose to use his account on another mobile phone if necessary and does not need any additional activation once the process is configured.
