The State Special Communications and Information Protection Service announced whether the Russian army can eavesdrop on the phones of Ukrainians, especially in temporarily occupied areas, and how to prevent this.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the State Special Communications Service.

“The conversations of Ukrainians in the networks of Ukrainian mobile operators are reliably protected from the enemy. Access to internal networks is closed by operators. And the transmission of the signal between subscribers takes place in an encrypted form, which makes eavesdropping impossible.”

Ukrainian operators use modern encryption systems recommended by international organizations that develop standards for mobile communications and network operation.

The State Intelligence Service announced that operators monitor illegal participation in the network. Therefore, any inclusion in the network of operators for the purpose of eavesdropping (through duplication of packets) will be noticed instantly.

The situation is radically different in areas where the Russian military has cut off Ukrainian communications and is trying to establish its own operator instead.

Russian special services have access to the networks of Russian operators, so you should use this type of communication as carefully as possible.

The State Special Communications Service advises subscribers to talk on the phone only about everyday, impartial things and avoid topics that can cause harm. It is not possible to discuss the positions or movements of the occupying troops.

In general, it is better to minimize calls using mobile communications and use messengers with end-to-end data encryption.

You should always use VPN services to access the internet. They reduce the risk of transmitting information to the enemy, and also provide an opportunity to bypass the blocking of information sources.

As reported by Ukrinform on July 26, the Internet in most areas of the Kherson region was lost for half a day, and the SIM cards of the occupants stopped working. Russians turned off communications to hide the movement of their equipment
