The main part of the booster unit of the Chinese space rocket weighing 22 tons fell uncontrollably to Earth near the island of Borneo.

As Ukrinform reported, such information was published on the Spaceflight Now publication.

“The main body of a Chinese rocket fell to Earth on Saturday for the third time in the past two years that China has allowed large boosters to enter the atmosphere uncontrollably. No debris or damage has been reported so far. Experts say the world population of uncontrolled debris ingress into the atmosphere believes it poses a low risk to

As noted, the Chinese Long March 5B rocket was launched on July 24 to deliver a new module to the Chinese Tiangong space station. The first blocks, after calculating the acceleration of the rocket, broke up and fell into the South China Sea. The main unit responsible for placing the module into orbit entered the atmosphere at 12:45 yesterday after the tests.

You can see how the rocket fragments burn in the atmosphere in the videos shot in the region of the island of Borneo. At this time, there were no reports of these debris remnants falling into residential areas.

NASA claimed that the PRC did not provide data on the trajectory of the remains of the rocket that crashed to Earth and called for a responsible attitude towards the safety of people on Earth.

Similar previous incidents involving the remains of a Chinese missile occurred in 2020 and 2021, when debris fell near Ivory Coast and in the waters of the Indian Ocean, respectively.
