The photo was taken by ACS (Advanced Camera for Surveys) and WFC3 (Wide Field Camera 3) cameras.
It has been noted that Hubble revolutionized the study of globular clusters, since it is almost impossible to clearly distinguish stars in these clusters with the help of ground-based telescopes.
The blurring caused by Earth’s atmosphere makes it impossible to distinguish one star from another, but thanks to Hubble’s position in low Earth orbit, our planet’s atmosphere no longer interferes.
As a result, Hubble has been used to study what stars form globular clusters, how they evolve, and the role of gravity in these dense systems.
The discoverer of NGC 6638 is German-born British astronomer Friedrich Wilhelm Herschel, who first observed the object on July 12, 1784.
As Ukrinform reports, the NASA/ESA Hubble space telescope photographed a number of galaxies, including LEDA 58109.
