Samsung’s new generation of foldable phones will be officially unveiled next week at the trade show unpacked which the South Korean company planned as a summer event. With constant leaks for months, we now get official renders from the prolific Evan Blass.
Samsung is sweeping the sale of folding smartphones and intends to maintain its privileged position with the launch of the new Galaxy Z Fold4 and Galaxy Z Flip4. As stated and assuming the pictures were accurate the exterior design will change very little compared to current versions. We review what we see and what we know so far.
Galaxy ZFold4
Some of the news are “hidden” in these renders, such as screen crease, much less noticeable than its predecessor thanks to a redesigned hinge. While maintaining the size of the screens (7.6 and 6.2 inches), changes are also expected in their aspect ratio, the outer from 24.5:9 to 23:9 and the inner from 11.2:10 to 12:10.

Internally, the biggest innovation would be the chipset Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 from Qualcomm. We expect 12 GB of RAM and possibly the premiere of new chips 1 Tbyte of internal storage capacity. If these don’t arrive in time, they will be a maximum of 512 Gbytes. The selfie camera is likely to get a much-needed upgrade, and whether the phone will have a hole in the chassis to house the S-Pen stylus remains to be seen.
What we see are its color finishes, beige with a hinge and gold edges, black, which Samsung calls Phantom Black, and also the familiar gray / green. There is no trace of the famous burgundy red finish. With Android 12 pre-installed and the manufacturer’s One UI layer, its price range and whether it will reduce the current one is unknown.

The images confirm what we knew so far, and continuous shell design. enormously compact when folded and also allows good one-handed operation when unfolded. These types of designs were very popular a few decades ago and are still used on “dumb” phones.

Not much is expected to change the impressive multi-touch flexible OLED screen, measuring close to 7 inches when unfolded, which will undoubtedly be the star of the Galaxy Z Flip4. yes, we hope so the outer screen will increase its size and that the hinge, like the Fold, is thinner and with a narrower gap when folded.
The internal hardware will be updated with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus SoC and will offer configurations with 512 GB of storage capacity. Renders show us four color versionsgraphite, rose gold, purple and blue.

Samsung will introduce a new generation of folding mobile phones August 10 at the Unpacked event where the company is also likely to present the new Galaxy Watch 5 smartwatch and the Galaxy Buds Pro 2 wireless headphones. Don’t miss it. We’ll be here to tell you everything that’s in there.
