Upcoming Release: Games August 2022

August tends to be a rather “weak” month in almost all respects. Half the world, chosen by the vast majority as a holiday month, will come to a standstill, and as a result, many companies from all industries (except tourism, of course) will hit the brake pedal and reduce their normal activity levels to a mere fraction. This is something we noticed again this month when we did our usual monthly roundup the most relevant game launches that will happen during this month of August 2022.

Of course, just because the beat slows down doesn’t mean it stops. Exactly opposite, we have found some titles that we have been waiting for a long time, and who decided to make their debut this month to help us make dog days more bearable, which are especially vitaminized this year. So let’s refresh ourselves a bit with this month’s most notable game releases.

South of the Circle

  • Date of publication: August 3, 2022
  • platform: PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch

Halfway between a game and a cinematic fiction, we find ourselves in front of one of those proposals in which we will have to face fundamental decisions that will mark the future of our destiny in one way or another. We play Peter, a Cambridge professor who crash-landed in Antarctica during the Cold War dead end in which the past, present and future will be shaken in a cocktail shaker of emotions that could lead us to decisions that we a priori thought we would throw away.

Two point campus

  • Date of publication: August 9, 2022
  • platform: PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch

Accidentally filtered out over a year ago, this is the title that those of us who already enjoyed Two Point Hospital at the time, and even more so those of us who have an indelible memory of the fabled Theme Hospital, have been waiting for. for with open arms. Running a university seems quite complex, what we would never imagine is that it can also become wildly absurd and more importantly, unsurpassably entertaining. Of course, do not believe that “Knowledge does not happen”, on the contrary, you will have to measure the size of classrooms to the millimeter.

Arcade paradise

  • Date of publication: August 11, 2022
  • platform: PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch

Somewhere between the 1980s and 1990s, before computers and video game consoles fully entered homes, there was a concentration of playful offerings that drove several generations crazy. I’m talking about arcades, of course. And what Arcade Paradise suggests to you is to put yourself in charge of one of these rooms from day one (until now it was actually a laundry room) and turn it into a reference room with your ingenuity and skills. Along the way, you’ll be able to add up to 35 arcades that, yes!, you’ll be able to play in-game.

Cult of the Lamb

  • Date of publication: August 11, 2022
  • platform: PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch

Announced at Gamescom last year, Cult of the Lamb, despite not being triple-A, was one of the titles that drew the most attention at the event (and I’ve been waiting for them ever since). After a supposedly sweet and childlike aesthetic, we’re actually treated to a particularly sinister game where we take control of a possessed lamb who, after avoiding death and paying off his savior, forms a sect to worship said savior… and himself. But it won’t be easy, as the land of false prophets is populated by many other cults that you will have to face in your battle of faith (and/or ambition).

rumbleverse

  • Date of publication: August 11, 2022
  • platform: PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S

Who said everything in the Battle Royale genre has already been invented? From the hands of Iron Galaxy Studios and with Epic Games as publisher (yes, exactly Epic, who are responsible for the most successful Battle Royale in history) comes Rumbleverse, a twist on the genre that adds another layer to the action of these titles. a sense of humor that can give you a breath of fresh air, but does not give up many of the mechanics and options typical of these titles.

Marvel’s Spider-Man Remade

  • Date of publication: August 12, 2022
  • platform: pc

It won’t surprise us as this release was already announced by Sony about two weeks ago. Marvel’s Spider-Man, a hitherto exclusive PlayStation 4 title, is making its highly anticipated jump to PC. In this title, eight years have passed since Peter Parker first donned the mask of Spider-Man, but New York is still the target of many villains that we will have to relentlessly face.

Madden NFL 23

  • Date of publication: 19 August 2022
  • platform: PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S

The departure of Tom Brady, the absolute star of the NFL, who announced the end of his elite sports career in May, did not last long, and a little later he announced that why not one more year? So if you take charge of a football team in Madden NFL 23, even if you have to start from the humble beginnings, you can end up managing a team that has a legend in its ranks. That alone is reason enough to give it a try.

Midnight Battle Express

  • Date of publication: 23 August 2022
  • platform: PC, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch

Sometimes we look for games with very thoughtful stories that make us think and from which we end up learning lessons that will mark our lives in a way. Not so, Midnight Fight Express offers us a thousand-per-hour fighting experience, with mechanics and cinematics that promise to be quite innovative. Whether with your bare hands or with all kinds of weapons, you’ll face off against hordes of enemies in an experience that aims to be a five-star stress reliever.

Saint’s Row

  • Date of publication: 23 August 2022
  • platform: PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S

The game that kicked off Gamescom 2021 is finally just a few weeks away from its Epic Games debut. We find ourselves in the long-awaited reboot of the classic saga, in which violence, irreverence and a great sense of humor take us to Santo Ileso, an open-world city in which, as a team with Neenah, Kevin and Eli, the first steps to create what will begin as gang, but will aspire to become a criminal empire.

Destroy all people! 2: Failed

  • Date of publication: 30 August 2022
  • platform: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S

Maybe I forgot to mention it at the time, but Destroy All Humans! I found it to be one of the most complex and entertaining games of 2005, and I can say the same about its 2020 remake. Both Crypto, its protagonist, and the game itself are irreverence at its purest, with a unique critical look at the decade 1950s (in the original) and 1960s (in this second part). Get rid of those damn hippies, get revenge on the KGB, the crazy politicians used to be the ones who fool the people, and remember, your job is to wipe out humanity and conquer this fucking planet.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection
