As part of the “Drone Army” project, 200 reconnaissance aircraft will be purchased for the Ukrainian army until the end of August.

As reported by Ukrinform, Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov announced this on Telegram.

We collected 751 million UAH for “Army of Drones” through the UNITED24 platform. By the end of August, we plan to complete the first mission – to purchase 200 reconnaissance aircraft,” he wrote.

Fedorov added that the first drones were purchased as part of the project. One of the best drones among them is FLyEye. Their speed can reach 160 km/h and their flight range is 60 km. This will allow scouts to get behind enemy lines and gain important information.

The Armed Forces will also power the DJI Matrice 300 drones. The drones have powerful cameras and thermal cameras. Day and night, Ukrainian soldiers will be able to see enemy equipment clearly.

In addition, the Ministry of Statistics is in talks with Ukrainian drone manufacturers to purchase for the “Dron Army” in the future. According to Fedorov, negotiations with companies Skyton, SKIF and Ukrjet continue.

Ukrjet is one of the largest mass-produced UAVs in Ukraine. It spends about 10 hours in the air and can fly 150 km from the control station. SKIF has a camera that works offline. Skyton can fly in the sky for up to 20 hours.

“I am sure that due to the development of military technology, more initiatives will appear in Ukraine, which will make the Ukrainian army one of the most technological armies in the world. Our advantage is in intelligence and ingenuity. And in our strength. Armed Forces,” stressed Fedorov.

As reported, on July 1, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Digital Transformation and the UNITED24 platform announced the launch of the “Drone Army” project. This is a comprehensive program that will include the systematic purchase, repair and operational replacement of drones, as well as a pilot training course.
