China launches three new satellites into space

Chinese authorities launched three new satellites into orbit on Thursday (August 4th), including a spacecraft to monitor carbon in Earth’s ecosystem.

As reported by Ukrinform, Xinhua reported it.

The launch of the Long March-4B launch vehicle was recorded at 11:08 Beijing time at the Taiyuan Cosmodrome in northern Shanxi province.

Later, three satellites were placed in the planned orbit.

The carbon monitoring satellite is mainly used to monitor carbon in terrestrial ecosystems, survey and monitor terrestrial ecology and resources, and monitor and evaluate major national environmental projects.

It will also provide operational support and research services in areas such as environmental protection, surveying and mapping, meteorology, agriculture and disaster risk reduction.

This launch was the 430th mission of the Long March launch vehicle series.

As reported by Ukrinform, Chinese authorities launched six satellites into space from the Jiuquan Cosmodrome on July 27.
