A defense hackathon will be held in Ukraine to ensure the state’s cybersecurity.
Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Malyar informed Ukrinform about this during a briefing at the Ukrainian Media Center.
He noted that Russia has been waging a full-fledged cyber war against Ukraine for the last 8 years, increasing its aggressive actions on this front, using new cyber weapons and changing its tactics and mechanisms.
“We also have tools and facilities, and very clear goals and objectives will be set during the hackathon. This is an important step in coordinating the efforts of the cyber community in the framework of fulfilling Ukraine’s cyber defense tasks. Organizational and legal principles of cyber defense activities, the creation of leading cyber warfare solutions and its implementation will be studied.
As reported by Ukrinform, on July 28, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a law authorizing the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine (Derzhspetsvyazo) to create and implement state policy in the field of active measures against aggression in cyberspace.
