In the last few years, podcasts have become a real hit around the world. They did not miss Russia, where celebrities, publications, news agencies, bloggers, columnists and ordinary people run their projects. Many have probably used the Anchor service, which allows you to record and easily edit audio, edit podcast episodes, publish and monetize content, collect contributions from listeners, and much more.
Spotify acquired Anchor along with another podcast service, Gimlet Media, in 2019. The amount of the deals was not disclosed at the time, but there were rumors that at least $200 million was paid only for the second company. A few days ago, Spotify released a financial report ready to spend $400-500 million on podcasting.
