American long-range sniper rifles M171 and M107 A1 (50 BMG) are versatile and powerful weapons of 12.7×99 mm Barrett caliber, they can be effectively used in classic sniper warfare, ambush, to neutralize enemy technical vehicles, fortified positions.
The rifle weighs 12.95 kg without ammunition and optical equipment. Easily disassembled and transported in two ordinary backpacks with a capacity of 60 liters. This allows a two-man sniper team to quickly move around the area.
The effective aiming range of the rifle is 1,500 meters, the initial velocity of the bullet is 853 m/s. The barrel is 737 mm long and has longitudinal fins for cooling. The two-chamber compensator absorbs 30% of the recoil. The magazine has a capacity of 10 cartridges.
The effective use of the rifle depends on many factors, choosing the right position for the shot, target designation, direct aiming, interaction with the second calculation number, even the weather and physical condition. But if you have such a modern weapon and know how to use it properly, it will never fail.
Additional equipment for the rifle – a ballistic calculator, modern optics – makes shooting even more perfect. For example, when changing the distance to the target thanks to the ballistic calculator, the calculation is done in seconds. Therefore, the fire could be fired not at one, but at two, and sometimes three detected targets. During sniper fire with the Barrett rifle, the advantage is given to lightly armored targets or destroying firing points.
