Even with minor functionality or aesthetic changes, it’s common to see how YouTube is experimenting with new features for its mobile app. And more specifically Test open to YouTube Premium usersThis is another advantage for the payers.
The last experimental function they tested was, zoom videos. While it’s true that it won’t be a revolution when applied to the general public, it can be helpful to see a part of the video better from time to time.
How to test the new YouTube zoom (if you’re a ‘Premium’ user)
The first thing we want to tell you is that it’s a function. you can test it on both android and iphone. Yes, though, you need to subscribe to YouTube Premium for that. As we said before, it is not an official function yet and it is in the testing phase.
YouTube will close registrations for this test on September 1.
If you meet this subscription requirement, all you have to do is follow these steps:
- Open the YouTube app on your mobile phone.
- Click your photo in the top right.
- Find and click Your premium benefits.
- Click now Try new features.
- Scroll down and tap To try Function named “Pinch to enlarge or reduce”.
After doing this, you will only have to wait for the function to be activated. Although it looks like it’s already enabled, it takes a few minutes for YouTube to implement it. You can check if it works making the typical screen pinch gesture Ability to zoom up to 8x with a video playing in full screen.
We have to say that it worked pretty well, although it was experimental in our tests. In fact, this may be an indication can reach even standard users, but not confirmed. It wouldn’t be the first time YouTube has left this functionality exclusive to ‘Premium’ or even reinstated its implementation.
