They bring back, and with more force than ever, the rumors they point to Google would be working on a foldable Pixel. A few days ago, we already told you that in the latest update of Google Camera, a new icon has appeared, which looks very similar to the design of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold. Of course, this makes us think that the much-rumored but seemingly dead-end project at the end of last year might actually be moving forward and even closer than we thought.

And so it is that if the news was an icon that week, today we find what might be concept renders that Google engineers would work with. Specifically, we see an image published by popular tech blogger Weibo and leaker @DCS. However, the leaker clarifies that these are some images that contain interesting aspects of the foldable Google Pixel, but that they are subject to design changes.

Nevertheless, and in combination with the Google Camera icon, we have a new sign Google would opt for a design similar to that of the Galaxy Z Fold, although it could also take elements from other devices of the same style, such as the OPPO Find N, with which some analysts are already comparing it. And of course, in all cases we are talking about the current generations, as we remember that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 will make a surprise appearance in Galaxy Unpacked next week.

A very interesting aspect that @DCS points out is related your main camera. And the thing is, unlike today’s most popular options, a screen perforation or a risky bet on an under-screen sensor, Google would opt for include its elements in the phone framemore specifically in various microperforations distributed himself. In this way, screen space is not lost (as with perforation), nor is its performance compromised with technology that is not yet mature enough.

And when would this foldable Google Pixel see the light? The most optimistic point to the Google Pixel 7 presentation, which will take place sometime between September and October, most likely the latter, as the debut moment for the foldable Google Pixel. And on the one hand, it might make sense, as it would explain the inclusion of a new icon in Google Camera, but on the other hand, Google has either managed to maintain total secrecy around its development (something difficult in this sector), or it looks a bit like a gamble early.
