VOD news brings you the week’s best releases on Netflix, HBO Max, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+… And it shows that the holidays have arrived – at least for some – as we have premieres almost everywhere. But how Sandman there is only one…
We start with Netflix, which, in addition to the usual nonsense, is treating us to one of its most anticipated releases this week: nothing more and nothing less than Sandmanalthough this is not the only thing we emphasize.
He arrived Sandman. Netflix has released one of its most anticipated series, an adaptation of arguably Neil Gaiman’s most popular creation, and look how successful the guy is. Of the largest, however Sandman All that remained was to transfer it to the big or small screen, and according to those who understand the subject, it was quite a challenge. I am not one of them.
I’ve read Neil Gaiman comics, but no Sandman, so I can’t judge whether the adaptation is faithful or well done. It goes without saying that there have been disagreements over typical character changes, including gender and race changes. How will this affect the adaptation… I said: I have no idea. but I didn’t read either A Song of Ice and Fire and enjoy Game of Thrones.
So that’s all I can say SandmanAfter watching just a few chapters, it looks like Netflix has finally hit on something. Moreover, I am not the only one: critics and viewers are quite satisfied, judging by what can be read there, which is not very usual for complex cult works, and for some with subtle changes, as it happens.
If, like me, you’ve never opened the site Sandman, I’ll tell you they scratched their pockets: it would cost about $165 million to produce, and while it may seem like money isn’t everything, it helps a lot. The rest is a fantastic story that is going very well and hopefully will have continuity.

Are you tired of fantasy? If you are more worldly and prefer a good host to charm, check out Sumpa Korean action movie that Netflix just got and it doesn’t look bad.
And finally, to have a little something for all viewers, here it is The Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Moviea new full-length animated film – with very distinctive artwork – for lovers of these classics.

We continue with Disney +, where very little is released, but well put together, which could be said in other circumstances.
The premiere of the week on Disney + is Predator: Prey, a new installment in the veteran action franchise that takes the story to the Comanche nation of the 18th century, where a rebellious teenager (is there anyone else in these movies?) takes on a bicharrac. The truth is that despite the significant delay, on the other hand typical in the genre, it is fun, the action scenes are tight and the environment is unbeatable. If instead of filming in English they did it in the native language, in style apocalypse I would win the whole thing.

Amazon Prime Video is also making its debut in more ways than one: we’re highlighting what’s new, but don’t miss out on what’s coming to the catalog, especially if you’re a Tolkien fan and have a 4K TV (no need to add, right?)
The big premiere of the week on Amazon Prime Video is thirteen lives, a feature film story about a true event that happened a few years ago in which a Thai children’s soccer team got stuck in a cave during a trip due to rain. You have to remember, because the subject circled the globe and kept everyone on edge due to an extremely complicated rescue involving a group of experienced American divers, this adaptation starred, among others, Viggo Mortensen (Lord of the Rings, Green book), Colin Farrell (Alexander the Great, A total challenge) or Joel Edgerton (The Great Gatsby, underground).

We end with the Apple TV +, which… yes, also comes with premieres up its sleeve, and to say the least, quirky. Or maybe we should say premiere in the singular, since the latter is the second season of one of his series.
premiere is happy, an animated film in the purest Pixar style, not only visual but also narrative, his most ambitious commitment to the genre to date. In other words… the critics give him his due, it’s not that easy to catch up with the masters right from the start. But it’s a start.

And yes, yes, we end with HBO Max, current these days for various news, but with almost nothing new to offer its subscribers. For the next.
