Seagate Technology, a company specializing in storage infrastructure solutions, and Phison Electronics, a well-known developer of solid-state drive controllers, recently announced plans to expand their solid-state drive portfolio with the next generation of high-performance enterprise solid-state. The new solid-state drives are said to help businesses reduce their total cost of ownership (TCO) by increasing storage density, reducing energy consumption and increasing productivity. The parties also announced a long-term partnership that covers the development and distribution of enterprise-class solid-state drives.

Seagate and Phison have been working together since 2017, when Phison controllers were selected for the Seagate SSD stack segment with SATA interface. The collaboration continued by expanding into the NAS NVMe series of high-performance consumer solid-state drives NVMe PCIe Gen4x4 FireCuda and the world’s first custom-designed solid-state drives. The collaboration will now focus on meeting the growing global enterprise demand for higher density, faster and smarter storage infrastructure. The parties promise to deliver the fruits this summer.
