“Bureviy” is a modernized version of the Soviet BM-27 “Hurricane” multiple rocket launcher system developed by the Ukrainian defense industry. Self-propelled multiple launch rocket system capable of firing all 220 mm projectiles, including 9M27F high-explosive warheads and unguided rockets with 9M27K 9M59 and 9M27K2 warheads.
Each rocket weighs 280.4 kg. Warheads weigh from 90 to 100 kg, depending on the type. A full volley of 16 missiles can be fired in 20 seconds and hit targets at a distance of up to 35 kilometers.
The new Bureviy artillery system was developed and manufactured entirely in Ukraine. It is based on the Czech-made Tatra 8×8 T815-7T3RC1 chassis and is equipped with an armored cabin.
The heavy rocket launcher also received a digital fire control system that can separate targets. This makes it possible to incorporate “Stormy” into a single reconnaissance-attack circuit, when information from reconnaissance vehicles such as UAVs is transmitted online to attack vehicles. This reduces the time from target detection to destruction to a few minutes.
