Unsurprisingly, along with the Galaxy Z Flip4 and Galaxy Z Fold4, Samsung also used this Unpacked to update its smartwatch designwhich in this generation consists of two models, the Samsung Galaxy Watch5 and Watch 5 Pro, both with different options (more in the former than the latter). In this way, Samsung diversifies its offer with watches that achieve from 299 to 519 euros.
These options have to do with the size of the Galaxy Watch5 and the connectivity of both models. Although their technical parameters are very similarwith many common points across all models, we thought it best to separate the two sizes of the Watch5 (40 and 44 millimeters) in the technical specifications to make each one easier to read.

As you can see, much of the “guts” are the same for all models. For example, they are all based on their own chip, the Exynos W920 SoC, which the technology company introduced last summer and which also powered the previous generation Galaxy Watch. It also agrees with the equipment 1.5 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage.
The first difference can be found by looking at their screens. In all three cases, Samsung opted for technology OLEDabout the size1.2 inches and 396 x 396 points on the 40mm Galaxy Watch5 and 1.4 inches with 450 x 450 pixels for Watch5 and Watch5 Pro For all three models, Samsung used sapphire glass, which guarantees resistance to impacts and in the context of sports activities.
And at this point we again find a common point in all models, as they have the same set of biometric sensors, which the Korean technology company groups into what it calls a bioactive sensor, located on the back of the watch, which measures Pulse, cardiac electrical signal and electrical bioimpedance. This is possible in combination with a temperature sensor electrocardiogramsmeasure blood pressure measure blood oxygen level and perform a bioelectrical impedance analysis with which we can measure our body composition. It goes without saying that the sleep analysis function has also been improved since its previous version.
These sensors combined with their connection with the main geolocation systemsmakes these Galaxy Watch5, especially the Pro model, which was designed specifically for this purpose (it is made of titanium to guarantee durability and lightness), the perfect accessory for indoor and outdoor sports.
Something that differs between the 40 and 44mm Galaxy Watch5 and Watch5 Pro is the capacity of their batteries, which are 284 milliamps, 410 milliamps and 590 milliamps. In all three cases, yes, with 10-watt fast charging. And when it comes to options, we can choose between the 40mm Galaxy Watch5 and Watch5 Pro versions with and without LTE mobile connectionin that case we will have to use an eSIM card of course.
Something that attracts the attention of this new generation, and which you must have already noticed, is that Samsung has ditched the traditional rotating crown, a common feature in analog watches and has also been reproduced in smartwatches for years. And from the use I’ve seen of this type of clock in my immediate area, I feel like this change is a big success because I don’t see them using this control except in very, very specific circumstances.
