OUR Google has released an update to its calendar service that allows users to mark a specific location, such as a specific building or office, as a workspace. This information will be displayed in the corresponding tab Google Calendar. The search giant announced this in an update to its blog. Workspacea suite of Google productivity and organization products this Monday (08).

Thanks to the new feature, Google indicates that it is intended to facilitate collaboration between colleagues so that users can know where others are working during the day and thus facilitate scheduling interactions between colleagues. In addition to the users themselves, other people’s calendar administrators will also be able to make changes to this information space if they have permission to do so.

“Now you can select a specific office building as your work location. The office building is taken into account when selecting meeting rooms and helps colleagues better understand where you plan to work on a given day.explains the edition of Google.

Resource Availability

According to Google, will have access to the new feature Location of Google Calendar for users with Google Workspace Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Standard, Enterprise Plus, Education Fundamentals, Education Plus, and Nonprofits, and legacy G Suite Business customers. won’t have access Google Workspace Essentials, Business Starter, Enterprise Essentials, Frontline, and G Suite Basic customers, and users with personal Google Accounts.

The rollout has already begun by the company as of this Monday, August 8th and should continue for another 15 days until it reaches all eligible users.

How end users can access this feature

If the workplace feature is available and enabled by the administrator, end users can access it by following the steps outlined by Google:

• Click on the calendar calendar just below the date, go to the “Workplace” tab “Select Location” click on the “+” icon “Other Office” select your office building
• Go to the “Working hours and location” section in the Calendar settings. From the Workplace drop-down menu, click Other Office and select your office building.
