Startups in the field of military technology (production of drones, software, etc.) account for almost 30% of all applications for the new grant program of the Ukraine Startup Fund to support dual-purpose projects.
As reported by Ukrinform, Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov announced this on Telegram.
“Almost 30% of all applications for the new grant scheme from the Ukraine Enterprise Fund are military technology projects. These are startups that produce drones, software and products in the field of cybersecurity,” he wrote.
Fedorov added that thanks to military technologies, Ukraine can strengthen its defenders on the battlefield, hold the technological front, conduct defense and counterattack. According to him, the Ministry of Digitization already has concrete plans on how to accelerate the development of military technology in Ukraine.
The Deputy Prime Minister noted that the professional experts of the Start-Up Fund of Ukraine have already started to evaluate the grant applications. These include CEOs of companies, senior executives, cyber industry experts, and experienced experts in government structures and business.
The minister also urged experts in the field of defense and infrastructure reconstruction to participate in the programme.
As reported by Ukrinform, Ukroboronprom and the Ukraine Enterprise Fund (USF) launched in June a grant support program for dual-purpose projects that will contribute to boosting the country’s defense capabilities and rapid post-war reconstruction.
