The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) plans to launch the massive Artemis 1 moon rocket soon.
As part of the Artemis 1 mission, the first launch of the new monster NASA SLS (Space Launch System) launch vehicle is planned, which will send the Orion spacecraft on an unmanned flight around the Moon and return it. The launch is scheduled for August 29, 2022.
The mission will also conduct an experiment called Callisto, which will show how consumer technology could integrate with spacecraft in the future. Amazon Alexa and WebEx from Cisco are involved in the experiment. The aim is to show how voice commands can improve the life and work of astronauts in space.
To do this, Orion’s center console will house an iPad that will test Cisco’s Webex video conferencing software to transmit content from the Flight Control Center in Johnson. The Alexa voice assistant will also be tested. Source
