“Technological advances that allow working in faster, more efficient, longer and more demanding environments could change the game in both commercial and military contexts,” said Alan Esteves, Undersecretary of Trade for Industry and Security.
The ministry said that gallium oxide and diamond, whose production is subject to sanctions, give semiconductors the ability to operate in more demanding conditions, for example at higher voltages or temperatures, and accordingly have significant military potential.
Inspection also includes a category of software tools used to inspect integrated circuits or printed circuit boards, which can facilitate the development of many commercial and military applications.
