Telegram confirms that Apple’s problem was Telemojis

Literature, cinematography and other artistic fields have accustomed us throughout our lives i hope there is good and evil in every story. They can be absolute, that is, absolutely good good and absolutely and unapologetically bad bad or, in more and more cases, have nuances, edges. A good guy who drinks milk from a tetra brik at home and a villain who always greets his neighbors warmly… in short, deeply multifaceted characters.

However, reality has shown us this there can also be clashes between two good guys and between two bad guys. An example of the second case is that confrontation in which SGAE and tuna saw each other, a dispute that, in my opinion, was nothing to envy Alien vs. Predator. It’s not that I’m saying SGAE and Prickly Pear are bad, but let’s be honest… it’s not that you can say they’re good either.

In any case, and for the fact that I have not already climbed into the puddle, I will draw on the texts of the sadly disappeared, but connoisseur of relativism (not on relativity, do not confuse) Pau Donés, who, hand in hand with Jarabe de Palo, told us about

It depends
Does it matter what does it depend on?
It depends on how you look at it.

I’d give a longer fragment of the text, but I don’t want to annoy SGAE or give ideas to tunas, so I’d rather go to the news that concerns us and how two opposing sides in a story at the same time can look bad. It all starts the day before yesterday, when Telegram denounced Apple for delaying the update. But mind you, it wasn’t just any update, was it?? It was a revolutionary update. Telegram updates are usually worth it, so this one in particular promised to be a bomb. Revolutionary, nothing more, nothing less.

Telegram confirms that Apple's problem was Telemojis

The fact is that Apple finally released the update yesterday. Well, that’s good news, although Telegram has not confirmed whether this is the expected revolutionary update or, on the contrary, an update uploaded to the Apple store as an alternative to the one that has been waiting for release for weeks approved and uploaded to the App Store. Emotions, intrigue, stomach aches… Were we ahead of a star update or just an appetizer? And why didn’t Apple approve and upload this update? There was tension in the room.

But the mystery is over, because, as we can read in Gizchina, there is already an answer to all the questions. And that’s it Apple has reportedly withheld Telegram’s update to Telemoji, an animated version of Apple’s emoji designs. Some of Telegram’s new emoticons were identical to Apple’s trademarked emoticons, according to the App Store’s review team. Third-party developers may not create applications that are “confusingly similar to an existing Apple product«. According to 5.2.5 of the App Store rules, Apple specifically states in the same rule that this includes not copying Apple’s emoticon design.

I will return for a moment to the conflict between the SGAE and the Prickly Pear, to suggest that in this case those from Cupertino would assume the role of the Spanish society representing (part of) the national authors. And it is that the protection of intellectual property is something completely legitimate, no one doubts that, but from there to continue using emoticons based on their own in the context of an application designed for their operating system, perhaps it seems to me that it is going a bit far.

But even in this case, Telegram has its own way. First, of course, for they created Telemojis without paying attention to Apple’s legal terms to publish apps in the App Store. And even more to know Apple and how they spend it. But beyond that point… “Revolutionary Update”? Are some animated emoticons that only premium (paid) Telegram users can use a revolutionary update? If it’s something truly revolutionary, the day they add a truly useful new feature, I wonder how they’ll rate it.

Is there something good, pure, or harsh about this story? I would say no. What do you think?
