Microsoft posted a short post on Twitter with tips for optimizing Windows using an image of the user sitting at the new iMac M1. The tweet has since been taken down following an outcry from users.
The tweet gave some tips on cleaning up and optimizing the performance of a Windows 11 PC, but for some reason the attached image showed an Apple iMac M1 running an Apple Silicone M1. This is not the first time brands have mistakenly advertised a competitor’s product. Take the same Samsung in 2018 that advertised the Galaxy Note 9 from a personal iPhone.
The adoption rate of Windows 11 slowed dramatically in February 2022, according to the latest data from market research firm AdDupleX, with Microsoft’s latest operating system gaining just 0.01% market share over the past four weeks.
