Swedish mobile phone manufacturer Ericsson has decided to suspend its operations in Russia indefinitely.

This was reported by Ukrinform with reference to the company’s press release.

It was noted that Ericsson suspended all deliveries to customers in Russia in late February.

“Against the recent events and sanctions of the European Union, the company will now indefinitely suspend its activities with customers in Russia,” the company said.

Ericsson will open a reserve account of SEK 0.9 billion (approximately $95 million) in the first quarter of 2022 in case of asset impairment and other “exceptional costs”.

As Ukrinform reported, on February 24, 2022, the Russian Federation launched a war without reason against Ukraine. The invaders are bombing and shelling peaceful towns and villages in Ukraine, torturing and killing civilians.

Russia’s aggression against Ukraine has drawn a concerted response from the European Union, which imposes harsh sanctions on Russia, provides significant political, economic, financial and military support to Ukraine, and welcomes millions of Ukrainians fleeing the war.

According to the UN, the number of Ukrainian refugees has exceeded 4.5 million.
