The Corsair MP700 will be a next-generation SSD that the American integrator will release as new processor platforms from AMD and Intel hit the market. And the manufacturers who jump on them will be different SSD PCIe 5.0 as confirmed yesterday with the Samsung 990 PRO.
Corsair this week announced the compatibility of its components, peripherals and accessories with the AMD Ryzen 7000 platform. It includes liquid cooling products of the ELITE LCD, ELITE CAPELLIX and ELITE RGB series to adapt them to the new AM5 socket and of course the DDR5 memory it already has on the market for the Intel Alder platform Lake and which can also be used for the new one from AMD or another one from Intel, Rocket Lake.

Consumer storage will take another leap forward in just a few months by leveraging the capabilities of the PCI-Express Gen5 interface. It should be recalled that the Intel Alder Lake platform already supports this interface (albeit to a limited extent due to the number of lanes), and this is probably why the new units have not yet been released. Or sell existing ones for commercial reasons.
In any case, new drives are coming, and on Corsair’s support page we see the MP700 in M.2 format, which promises sequential read 10,000 MB per second in sequential read mode and 9,500 MB in write mode. Stratospheric value, although it must be said that the PCIe 5.0 interface can be stretched even further.

No further information has been offered on this unit, although we assume the integrator will continue to trust Micron use their TLC NAND Flash memories in the drivers Philson and all this accompanied by a quality passive cooler, a five-year warranty and excellent support from Corsair.
We don’t even know the prices, and it will be crucial for users to bet on PCIe Gen5 SSDs from their launch. For reference, let’s say that the fastest SSD in Corsair’s current catalog, the MP600 XT Gen4, can be found for $240 in its 2 Tbyte version. We will give you more information soon.
