A few months ago we had the opportunity to look at the long-awaited A Plague Tale: Requiem, the sequel to A Plague Tale: Innocence, a game that we were able to analyze at the time and which We liked it very muchboth for its technical adjustment and for its design, history and great environment.

Asobo Games, responsible for A Plague Tale: Innocence, have done an impressive job with this title, and from what we’ve seen in the new A Plague Tale: Requiem video they’ve released, it’s clear they’ve raised the bar with this second installment. The game retains everything that made the first one great, including the great environment, well-tended story and fantastic design, and improves especially in the technical part, gameplay and animations.

Three great keys in A Plague Tale: Requiem deserve special mention. The first is in geometry in general and texturing, and there is a distinct generational leap from the original. The geometry is more complex and meticulous, which allows the modeling of characters, their faces and all elements of scenarios, including enemies, to present a much higher quality. The textures are the “skin” of that geometry and also clearly surpass what we saw in the original game.

The second key is found in use ray tracing, a technology that enables the generation of highly realistic lighting and shadow effects, as well as reflections and caustics. This technology will be present in A Plague Tale: Requiem and the third key is in DLSS 2nd generationintelligent image reconstruction and scaling technology that will allow us to significantly improve the performance of A Plague Tale: Requiem without sacrificing high graphic quality.

A Plague Tale: Requiem was designed as a next generation game and the truth is that it shows in its technical part. The game will be available From October 18 this year on PS5, Xbox Series X-Series S and PC. It will also come to the Nintendo Switch, but in a version that will be played in the cloud, since the Nintendo portable does not have enough power to run it natively.
