The NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope took a picture of the dwarf irregular galaxy NGC 1156 in the constellation Aries.

ESA reports this, Ukrinform reports.

It is stated that NGC 1156 is located about 25 million light-years from Earth.

This cosmic object is a dwarf irregular galaxy, also classified as isolated, meaning there are no other galaxies nearby that would affect its strange shape and continued star formation.

The extraordinary energy of newly formed young stars gives the galaxy its color against the red glow of ionized hydrogen, while its center is densely populated with older generation stars.

The discoverer of NGC 1156 is German-born British astronomer Friedrich Wilhelm Herschel, who first observed the object on November 13, 1786.

Dwarf irregular galaxies are dwarf galaxies with an uneven distribution of luminosity in the image.

As reported by Ukrinform, the NASA/ESA Hubble space telescope took a photo of the middle of the globular star cluster NGC 6540 in the constellation Sagittarius.
