S2G Esports participated in the PUBG MOBILE World Invitational 2022 Afterparty Showdown tournament in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, completing the tournament with a prize of TL 2.1 million.
The second leg of the PUBG MOBILE World Invitational (PMWI) tournament, which witnessed the breathtaking battle of PUBG MOBILE, one of the most popular mobile games in the world, has been completed. After the Denizbank Istanbul Wildcats team, which entered the main draw and won a prize of 1.3 million TL in seventh place, another great success came from S2G Esports.
The PMWI Afterparty Showdown tournament was played offline in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, between August 18 and 20, with the participation of 12 teams from around the world. In addition to the top five teams in the PMWI main draw, seven teams, including S2G Esports, were determined by the votes of the fans in the PUBG MOBILE game.
S2G became the second most voted team
Our representative, S2G Esports, who entered the tournament with a total prize pool of $1 million from the European region, was also allowed to enter the tournament as the second team with the most votes, making our country proud even before the tournament started with more than 327 thousand votes.
Turkish representative S2G Esports, who took the stage at the PMWI Afterparty Showdown and managed to take 4th in all three major tournaments (PMGC, PMPL, PMPL EU), completed the tournament in 4th place, with a prize of 116 thousand dollars, that is, more than 2.1 million TL completed the last championship.
At the end of the 18-game adventure played for a total of three days, the Thailand representative Vampire Esports, who was also the main draw champion, also won the PMWI Afterparty Showdown tournament.
Great success of Turkish teams
Our representative, S2G Esports, kicked off the tournament with a resounding success on the first day of the Afterparty Showdown, which took place in the massive area in downtown Riyadh. With two wins in four games, S2G Esports finished in fourth place on the first day. S2G Esports made Turkey proud by being the 3rd most awarded team of the tournament.
Of the $3 million prize pool distributed throughout the event, $2 million was shared during the Main Draw on August 11-13 and $1 million at the Afterparty Showdown on August 18-20. Our representatives Denizbank Istanbul Wildcats and S2G Esports were among the teams that left their mark on the tournament with a prize of around 3.5 million TL.
