The Intel Arc A3 380 was the first dedicated graphics card that the chip giant launched under its Arc Alchemist line, and generally speaking, early performance tests agree that the said graphics card offers good performance in games in the range it is in (it has an average price of 150 dollars) because in some tests it performs at the level of the GeForce GTX 1650.
However, this graphics card is a confirmation of what we have already told you in previous articles that Intel has a backlog with drivers and especially with driver-level support for improve performance in DirectX 11 and DirectX 9 based games. As for DirectX 9, we have already told you about the solution that Intel has adopted, converting the said API directly to DirectX 12, but with DirectX 11 it will not be possible.
Intel openly acknowledged the situation and was very clear, is committed to improving drivers to ensure competitive performance under DirectX 11 and takes very seriously the various independent tests and analyzes that have been published with the Arc 3 A380, proof of this is that thanks to one of these analyses, namely the one carried out by Intel’s Gamer Nexus, it managed to discover a total of 43 bugs present in the graphics card drivers. Most of these bugs have already been fixed.
It’s a fact, the chip giant takes ratings and reviews very seriously which accepts the Intel Arc 3 A380 and is taking steps to roll out all the necessary improvements to fix major bugs and errors. This should be reflected in the gradual maturity of drivers for said graphics card and improvements in performance levels. We’ll see how things play out in the coming months, though I’m confident that ultimately Arc Alchemist will offer quite competitive value.
Intel is entering the graphics card market this is good news for everyone, this is something we must not forget, as it means more competition in a sector currently dominated by NVIDIA and AMD. Having a third player will mean more products to choose from and better prices tootwo keys that will be a direct result of this increased competition.
