Twitter and Elon Musk: Flower of the Day

I’m not sure if Twitter and Elon Musk “finished” in the best or worst possible way. The reason for the quotes is obvious, and that is that the billionaire is still the majority shareholder in the social network. But, as our colleagues at MuyComputerPRO said this morning, and in an unexpected turn of events, Musk has finally resigned from his membership of the social network board.

What happened? What was the reason you backed off from something that has already been publicly announced? We can speculate on the possible reasons that led to this, but there is no single official explanation for this at the moment. All we know is that he resigned of his own free will, and that Parag Agrawal, the CEO of Twitter, posted a statement on the social network stating this circumstance, showing his predisposition and predisposition and continuing to work with Musk.

Tweet, as it might be otherwise, is absolutely friendly, respects Musk’s decision, and as stated above, they are more than open to all the feedback the billionaire, like other shareholders, wants. However, there are two interesting points in the note shared by Agrawal. The first is that there have been countless conversations about it (since Musk joined the board of Twitter), and the second is that it may be just a form of courtesy, but he confirms that he thinks it’s the best decision.

One of the conditions that Elon Musk had to accept to join the board of Twitter was to undertake not to acquire more than 14.9% of the company’s shares. Recall that the purchase he made concerned 9% of the titles, so his ability to move in this sense had a limit: another 5.9% of the titles, he could not pass from there. If we see that Musk buys more titles in the short or medium term and exceeds those 14.9%, we will already know the reason for this change of opinion.

However, It’s hard for me to believe that this is the reason, or at least that it is the only reason. And precisely the fact that in recent days we have seen how Musek’s unmistakable style of communication, which has its main speaker on Twitter, went directly to (or against) the social network itself. From a survey that could touch on some other sensitivity, to his events this weekend, these are actions that made us ask how a billionaire would fit into the Twitter decision-making body.

It’s hard not to imagine the uproar that Elon Musk’s actions could have on the board of Twitter over the past week. So, of course, I’m not saying they had anything to do with Musk’s decision, but I wouldn’t be surprised if deep inside, many of them breathed a sigh of relief. And that’s exactly what I read in Agrawal’s statement that this is the best possible decision.

What do you think? What do you think Musk chose not to sit on the board?
