Finally, the rumors came true, Sony presented Dual Sense Edgea controller that appears to be the Japanese company’s answer to Microsoft’s Xbox Elite Controller, and which has committed to exactly the same approach, meaning it’s positioning itself as a highly configurable and customizable top-of-the-line controller.
Like all controllers that offer a wide range of customization, the DualSense Edge is designed so that the gamer can fully adapt to your needs and preferences, and gain a possible advantage in competitive games. It’s important to keep in mind that this type of control won’t make you a good gamer overnight, but it can help you improve your performance in games.
At the design level, the DualSense Edge retains the essence of the standard model, as we can see in the attached video and the cover image. With it, we can access various modifications and adjustments, including z activation, deactivation and reassignment buttons to adjust the sensitivity of the analog sticks, something very useful for fine-tuning the accuracy and improving our aim based on the peculiarities of each game.
We can too create and save different profiles that we can load immediately depending on the game we are using we will have the option replace the analog stick cover to customize their touch and grip and will have interchangeable triggers and back buttons. It will be at the level of the original DualSense in terms of integrated technology and performance, so in that sense we have nothing to fear.
Unfortunately, we don’t have details on the DualSense Edge’s launch date, and the retail price hasn’t been revealed either, so we’re now in a situation of uncertainty either way. However, I can tell you this in advance its price will be significantly higher than the original DualSense, something completely understandable given everything it offers.
Personally, I think it’s likely I ended up hovering around the 150 euro marka number that would place it at a fairly competitive level, if we consider what we can currently find in the market of customizable controls and the prices that move in this sector, where it is easy to find products above 200 euros .
