As part of its presentation at Gamescom 2022 on August 25, Microsoft employees officially announced one of the biggest updates for Microsoft Flight Simulator. As part of this update, the developers of the project will give players the opportunity to control helicopters and gliders (non-motorized aircraft) – such an opportunity will appear in this series of video games for the first time since 2006. And the developers promised to release the update on November 11, and given the fact that Microsoft has not seen any delays in the release of updates before, we can safely wait for the new tools.

But an update 40th Anniversary Edition In general, it can be said that it is quite rich in terms of content. For example, the developers of the simulator, after numerous requests, decided to add to Microsoft Flight Simulator a huge realistic Airbus A-310 aircraft, which can boast quite complex control and incredible detail. The authors of the update noted that every button in the cockpit will work as in real life, so taking off with such a “bird” or landing an Airbus A-310 on the runway will be very difficult. Also, a rather interesting airplane from 1947 will appear in the game – talk about an airplane Hughes H-4 Hercules.

In addition, six more historic aircraft from different aircraft construction eras will appear in the update, and Microsoft is adding four new classic airports, ten airports specifically for gliders, and fourteen helipads. Here it is worth clarifying that not much has been done with helicopters – only fourteen special landing sites seem, against the background of all other content, at least insufficient, given that the entire planet Earth is represented in the game. Of course, the helicopter can land on literally any flat surface.

There is good news for fans of past episodes of Microsoft Flight Simulator – the developers have promised to convey interesting missions (twenty pieces in total) from them. And, of course, there were detailed cities – five German cities (Hanover, Dortmund, Düsseldorf, Bonn and Cologne) will appear in Microsoft Flight Simulator, detailed to the limit thanks to special technologies. And these cities, unlike the rest of the content, will appear in-game on the day of the Gamescom event.
