On August 26, at its own event before the IFA 2022 electronics show, LG officially unveiled its new gaming monitor, UltraGear OLED 45GR95QE, created for gamers with the highest demands. For example, in this model, the diagonal of the screen is 45 inches, which is a really large area, especially considering the aspect ratio of 21:9. This means that 45 inches really is real, not like the larger format options. Also, the manufacturer has decided to revive the curved monitor fashion, which seems to have completely disappeared from the market.

The manufacturer’s official description states, “Model 45GR95QE is the first LG monitor to combine a 45 inch matrix and 800R curvature”.

The radius of curvature of the matrix of this monitor is 800R, thanks to which, as the manufacturer himself noted, immersion in virtual worlds will be deeper and richer. This is how curved matrix gaming monitors were once advertised, but gamers were not inspired by this intense game. In addition, the monitor features an organic OLED display, which is important for image quality, HDR10 support and 98.5% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space. Considering that this is a gaming monitor and not a designer’s tool, the color distribution is more than acceptable.

However, there is also great news for gamers. For example, this monitor operates at a 240Hz matrix refresh rate and has a gray-to-gray response time of just 0.1ms. For an OLED matrix, this is an excellent indicator, but in general there are enough monitors on the market with such a responsiveness. The resolution of the monitor is 3440×1440 pixels (2K resolution extended to width), so there is no 4K resolution here, but the manufacturer has equipped its new product with support for Picture-by-Picture (PBP) and Picture-in-Picture (PIP). In addition, the monitor has enough ports – it has two HDMI 2.1 outputs, a DisplayPort 1.4 and a USB 3.0 hub.

The design of the monitor does not attract much attention – on the back you can see absolutely the simplest plastic with a small diamond-shaped panel with backlight, on the front panel there are completely standard bezels, and the stand is V-shaped. Unfortunately, the manufacturer has not talked about prices or an approximate sale date so far, but that information will likely emerge shortly after the show’s end.
