VOD news brings you the best premieres of the week on Netflix, HBO Max, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+… And we’re talking about superheroes, even if the title Samaritan doesn’t seem like it. And a little more to close the de facto last week of August.

Amazon Prime Video

So today’s featured content comes from Amazon Prime Video, where it was just released Samaritan and some other things like the third season Star Trek: The Lower Decksanimated series trekkie exclusive platform.

Samaritan

All in all, if there is an excellent release on Prime Video, this is it Samaritana film produced by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer that was not in theaters on this side of the world, although it was aimed at nothing more than the video-on-demand service of its owner, Amazon. Samaritan is actually an Amazon Original Movie.

And yes, it’s about superheroes, albeit a little less “for the whole family” than Spider-Man… but not too much either. Samaritan is an adaptation of the Vertigo (DC) comic book, which collects the misadventures of an old superhero who, to his regret, has to re-disclose a couple of milk bills. There are many presentations: the main character is Sylvester Stallone himself.

The movie is nothing to write home about, not even close. In fact, it’s the other way around: the plot is a repetition of repetition… After a few minutes you know how it’s going to end because it’s the archetypal action hero story going downhill but with bellows to save the day… that’s what it’s called Samaritan.

Time for me is the biggest premiere of the week on Netflix, the Kevin Hart comedy (Jumanji, A spy and a half) and Mark Wahlberg (boogie nights, now) which could also be described as an exaggeration of the shower… in its own category, of course, but just like the previous one, it can be seen.
