GPD Win 4 It is a future device of the company specializing in mini computers, which has not yet been officially announced, but rumors and leaks are already making sure that we can know some of its possible characteristics.

To start, the screen will be 6 inches compared to the 5.5-inch third-generation device. It would go up in native resolution Full HD (1920×1080) compared to the 720p (1280 × 720) still of the current model, so we’ll see how this factor affects the autonomy. In terms of device size, it looks like it will be similar to the previous generation, so it’s likely that the GPD Win 3 dock will be compatible.

When it comes to the processor, everything indicates that it will bet on a radical change AMD Ryzen 7 6800U with RDNA 2 graphics instead of the Intel Tiger Lake up to Core i7-1165G7 used by the previous generation. The move would allow GPD Win 4 to benefit from Radeon’s increased experience in graphics processing, as well as leaving the door open to turning the device into a Linux gaming machine by coming closer to the technology used by Steam Deck. Radeon drivers for Linux are much more advanced than Intel’s.

Other innovations compared to the previous generation would be a somewhat more ergonomic design, interchangeable analog sticks, it would have physical keys instead of touch keys and include a fingerprint sensor on the left side and an optical trackpad on the right side. All this would be added to the presence of USB Type-C and Type-A ports at the top. The operating system is expected to be Windows, now probably 11.

As we said before, GPD Win 4 has not been officially announced yet, so we can see that its features are different at the time of official introduction. For now, the company is still running an Indiegogo campaign crowdfunding to fund GPD WIN Max 2, which more than exceeded its goals.
