“My biggest problem and my biggest regret is Twitter becoming a company,” Dorsey said in a statement on his social media account.

Twitter has been embroiled in a major controversy since a former company executive revealed on Tuesday that he has serious cybersecurity issues, lied to authorities about it, and had neither the capacity nor interest in determining the number of fake accounts on the social network.

Peiter “Mudge” Zatko, the former head of Twitter security, reported all this in a report passed to the US Congress and various federal agencies last month, the content of which was disclosed by the newspaper. Washington Post and the CNN network.

According to these media, the internal information shared by Zatko identifies a company with significant management issues that, among other things, allowed too many employees to access its central controls and sensitive information without adequate supervision.

It assures one or more employees may be working for foreign intelligence services, and denies that company executives have lied to shareholders and regulators about the social network’s major security shortcomings.

The complaint states that “grave shortcomings, negligence, willful ignorance and threats to national security and democracy” were identified at the company.

Zatko also points out that Twitter did not properly delete the data of users who canceled their accounts because they lost their information in some cases, and misled the regulators in this regard.

His report also cites the issue of “bots” that are at the center of the lawsuit that populates the social network and will face Twitter and billionaire Elon Musk. believes he is not telling the truth about the number of fake accounts.

According to the former manager, Twitter doesn’t have the resources to really know the number of “bots” and their main administrators are not interested in achieving it.

Zatko worked at the company from November 2020 to January of this year, when he was laid off.
