With the launch of the new FPV drone avatara DJI has released an update that supports the controls and goggles from the previous model to the new model, and the FPV Goggles V2 from the FPV Drone model are even sold with the new drone.
DJI has been looking to enter the world of FPV drones to exponentially grow this segment, with Avata being its first CineWhoop style FPV drone that is also suitable for indoor filming.
With easy-to-handle drones, DJI has become a very friendly brand for those who want to get started in the drone world. With complete equipment that comes from the factory, full of interesting features that make life easier for the user. And with the addition of the new Avata model to the company’s product catalog, there is concern among owners of the previous DJI FPV Drone and its components. But DJI has assured users of its older model that they are eyeing the Avata – and the potential savings.
Updates for Goggles (FPV Goggles V2), Remote Controller (FPV Remote Controller 2), Motion Controller, App (DJI Fly 1.7.0) and even the DJI FPV Drone have been released and support Avata, saving those who already own the goggles and control the previous model to avoid buying new ones. See below for the latest firmware versions for each component:
Cinewhoop FPV drones are designed for imaging and are most often used in sports or any kind of filming that requires more action. Many Cinewhoop FPV models follow the do-it-yourself approach, with drone enthusiasts building their own models piece by piece. But DJI offers action-ready models with proprietary technology that make life a lot easier for those who want to get into drone photography.
DJI Avata consists of a 1/1.7″ 48MP CMOS sensor camera capable of recording up to 4K@60fps or 2.7K@120fps, 20GB of internal storage with a microSD card expansion slot, with a 2420 mAh battery that promises up to 18 minutes of autonomy. With prices ranging from $629 (drone only) to $1388 (full model, with new goggles and controls), DJI drones are about to land on Tupiniquin lands, still no fixed price in Brazil.
