Vivo debuts in the market for tablets and collapsible mobile devices

Vivo Pad is a mid-range tablet that the Chinese manufacturer presented at the same presentation event as the Vivo X Fold folding smartphone. Both are the first brands in their respective markets.

Live pad

An interesting tablet that is based on a multi-touch OLED screen 11 inches with native 2K resolution (2560 x 1600 pixels), 120 Hz refresh rate and Dolby Vision support. Your engine is a Snapdragon 870, 8-core ARM with GPU Adreno 650, which should be enough for this tablet. It includes 8 GB of RAM and 128 and 256 GB storage options.

Vivo Pad contains a rear camera with two sensors (13MP main + 8MP ultra wide) and an 8MP front camera. It supports Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5 and NFC, has four speakers, Dolby Sound support and a 3.5 mm audio jack.

Your battery has capacity 8,040 mAh and supports 44W fast charging via USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port for power and data. Thin and light, it is 6.55 mm thick and weighs only 498 grams. Vivo sells original tablet accessories to enhance its usage modes, a cover with keyboard and tilt support, and a digital pen compatible with 4096 pressure sensitivity levels.

The Vivo tablet, the brand’s first, pre-installs Android 11 along with Vivo’s own UI, OriginOS. It will be available in China starting this week and is expected to enter the international market soon. It is sold in two versions with the following prices:

  • Vivo Pad with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage capacity: 2,499 yuan ($ 392 per exchange)
  • Vivo Pad with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage capacity: 2,999 yuan ($ 471 in exchange)

Vivo X Fold

Vivo presented its first folding mobile phone at the same event. And it’s exactly as we expected. In a design reminiscent of a book reminiscent of Galaxy Fold3, the best-selling in its sector. The main AMOLED screen has a size 8 inches in a decomposed state with a native resolution of 2200 x 1800 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The secondary screen has a diagonal of 6.53 inches and allows you to use the phone without opening it. Below both screens are fingerprint readers.

The terminal will use Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 as the main engine. According to previous tests, up to 12 Gbytes of LPDDR5 and up to 512 Gbytes of UFS 5.1 have been added for storage that offers great performance. The terminal is equipped with an excellent camera system with four Zeiss optics, a 50MP main, a 48MP ultra-wide camera, a 12MP “portrait” camera and another with a 5MP periscope zoom. The phone also has two 16MP selfie cameras, one internal and one external.

It is equipped with 4,600 mAh batteries with 66-watt fast wired and 50-watt wireless charging and supports Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC and of course 5G mobile broadband networks. Regarding prices, They are slightly lower than what has been addressed.

This segment is maturing to get closer to the general public. Vivo will sell its folding equipment in China in two versions:

  • With 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage capacity: 8,999 yuan ($ 1,400 per exchange)
  • With 12 GB RAM and 512 GB storage capacity: 9,999 yuan ($ 1,570 in exchange)
