US-based Mondelez International, the manufacturer of Oreo, Mikado and Pepito products, shared an official statement today. Under the heading ‘big cleanup’, the company responded to allegations that 3 production facilities may have been closed on suspicion of viruses. Mondelez’s statement was as follows:

“As Mondelēz International, the safety of our consumers and the quality of our products are our top priority.

Today the news circulated in various media about our Oreo brand, Released in Europe in June 2022 and our company immediately took the relevant actions.

Following a warning about Salmonella contamination from our supplier in June, a detailed check was carried out at Mondelēz’s production facilities, where chocolate is supplied as a precaution, and no health risks were found. However, none of the products coming to Turkey are imported from the mentioned production facilities.

After performing all necessary checks and taking follow-up measures, We are pleased to confirm that all Mondelēz products on the market are safe.”
