The company informed Ukrinform about this.
As noted, the telecom operator has modernized its network infrastructure, which improves performance, throughput, fault tolerance, and improves the Comprehensive Information Protection System of the protected Internet access node’s information and telecommunication system. Its reliability is confirmed by the state inspection and the KSZI ITS-ZVID Certificate of Conformity, approved by the State Special Communications Administration. This document certifies that the network infrastructure is protected from unauthorized access and meets high network security standards and the requirements of regulatory documents on technical equipment.
“We implemented it at Kyivstar in 2021 and provided corporate customers with a comprehensive protection service (AntiDDoS service) against DDoS attacks. The Certificate obtained makes it possible to serve B2G customers as well,” said Yuriy Prokopenko, Director of Cybersecurity at Kyivstar.
The AntiDDoS service is a multi-level protection against targeted malicious traffic, the effectiveness of which has been tested on the operator’s own IT systems and network. The basis of the service is the FortiDDoS solution from developer Fortinet.
Kyivstar paid special attention to the protection of subscribers’ information and network security. As an important infrastructure object, the operator is integrated with the MISP-UA platform – this is a state information system that provides users with notifications about cyber events in Ukraine and the world; collects and analyzes information and helps share practical experiences to counter tampering and cyber attacks.
