As we told you at the time, Elon Musk’s aspirations for the trial against Twitter were for it to take place in February of next year and to last ten days. Twitter, in turn, requested that the trial be held in September and last five days. And as we told you then, Judge Kathaleen McCormick made a decision that we can qualify as the first success for Twitter, andpostponing the trial to the month of October and setting its duration to five days.

Musk’s main (if not only) trump card in this process to get out of this is to be able to demonstrate that estimates of the number of fake accounts on the social network, which, according to her, do not reach 5% of the total, are lagging behind and that the real number is much higher. Proving something like this is very difficult, so his aspiration was to not hold the trial until next year and still not give up the chance to win some extra time.

Last week, both sides had to deliver additional documentation to the judge, but that too was released complaint by Peiter Zaťek, Twitter’s former head of security, about security issues on the platform. Complaints filed with the SEC, the Department of Justice and the US Federal Trade Commission accuse Twitter of gross negligence with regard to information security, in addition to alleging that the company encourages the creation and spread of bots and minimizes real information by their number.

This complaint, as we can imagine, came as a godsend for Elon Musk and his legal team. And this is how we can read in Yahoo! Finance, as a result of Zaťka’s complaint Musk’s legal team requested that the trial be delayed a month from the originally scheduled date. A month which, according to what they say, they will use to «process» what this ex-employee denounced and that it seems to have a pretty direct relationship with regard to what Musk allegedly backed off from the purchase operation.

Now the big question is whether Zaťko could offer Musk, either directly or indirectly, information that proves what both sides condemn. If so, it could be the best news the billionaire has received in quite some time. However, we will have to wait to see if that additional month is finally granted, or if the dates will not be moved, and therefore your legal team must act even more quickly.
