As part of its efforts to care for the environment, Samsung Electronics has decided to increase the use of recycled parts in the repair of smartphones. The company plans to use a manufacturer-approved recycled parts program to repair mobile devices in the first half of this year. The company aims to reduce the burden on consumers and the negative impact on the environment through the use of recycled materials.
The cost of repairing a damaged screen will be halved if this program is used. Samsung Electronics plans to increase consumer confidence by ensuring the quality and performance of recycled parts at a level that corresponds to new parts.
Samsung Electronics has been promoting the use of recycled materials since the announcement of Project Galaxy for the Earth in August 2021. Recycled plastic materials from used fishing nets have found application in some Galaxy S22 and Galaxy Book 2 Pro. Source
