As the technology war between China and the United States continues, the United States has made an important decision. According to the document filed by NVIDIA with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the company has forbidden to ship some graphics processors to China and Russia. The same decision applied to AMD.

While AMD did not share an official statement on the subject, details were shared by industry sources. Both NVIDIA and AMD Product models they can no longer export to China and Russia was also announced. These models were graphics card models mainly used in the development of artificial intelligence, deep learning technology and jobs requiring high processing power.

Graphics processors that NVIDIA and AMD are not allowed to export to China and Russia:

• AMD MI200

So why was the export of these models banned?

According to the SEC filing filed by NVIDIA, the US government has signed this decision because of the potential for military end-use of the products in China and Russia. The government did not completely stop companies from exporting products. NVIDIA and AMD before exporting the above models to China and Russia It will need to obtain a special license from the US government.
