According to today’s tweet From the company’s official account, Twitter has officially started testing an edit button for Twitter Blue followers that allows users to edit their tweets for typos and errors even after they’ve been published.
Twitter has previously confirmed that it is working on an edit button, but did not provide details on when users can test it. according to the post in blog Twitter's new edit button will be available to a small group of Twitter Blue subscribers later this month after Twitter "internal testing".
Edited tweets will be clearly marked as edited and users will be able to see previous versions of the tweet.
Tweets will remain editable for 30 minutes after posting.
For this test, tweets will be edited multiple times within 30 minutes of being posted. Edited tweets will appear with an icon, timestamp, and hashtag to let readers know that the original tweet has been modified. Tapping the hashtag will take viewers to the edit history, which includes previous versions of the tweet.
Twitter says testing the edit button will "initially be localized in one country" and will expand over time. The company said it will pay close attention to how the new functionality "affects the way people read, write and interact with Tweets."
