excitement started To test one of the most requested features by users, editing tweets that has already been published and will soon be available to subscribers of the monthly subscription service Twitter Blue.

The company announced in April that it is working on getting users to access this tool in the “coming months” and will begin testing it on Twitter Blue Laboratories.

Days later, reverse-engineering developer Alessandro Paluzzi was able to confirm in a series of tests that it would be an hour after the tweet was posted for users to make the edits. This prevents old posts from being rewritten.

Now the social network has announced that its Edit Tweet functionality has begun to be tested internally and will expand to Twitter Blue subscribers currently in New Zealand, the United States, Australia and Canada later this month.

Twitter has implemented this option among a small group of users to “identify, learn, and improve functionality before sharing it with the public,” according to a memo sent to Europa Press.

In this test, tweets can be edited multiple times within 30 minutes of posting. This way, modified posts will appear with an icon, timestamp, and hashtag so readers will know that the tweet is not original.

Thus, every time other users click this button, they will be able to access the tweet edit history containing previous versions of the tweet.

Twitter has stated that once internal testing has passed, it will only test Twitter Blue subscribers in a single country from the aforementioned countries.

So you will continue to expand the tool as you see how users use this button and how the feature affects how people read, write and participate in tweets.
