The independent security testing organization SE Labs has awarded Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response Expert an “AAA” rating in the first comparative Enterprise Advanced Security rating of EDR products. In the test, Kaspersky EDR Expert achieved a “Total Accuracy Rating” of 100, detecting all elements of each threat with no false positives.

The global cost of cybercrime is estimated to be $10.5 trillion by 2025. Not only is the number of threats in this space increasing, but attacks are also becoming more sophisticated as criminals use new tools and methods to breach target networks. That’s why it’s critical for businesses to have robust and reliable detection and response tools in place to secure their networks across all devices.

SE Labs conducted extensive attacks on the offerings of five different cybersecurity companies to determine how effective each EDR product is. These were based on the behavior of the attackers who used the ATT&CK MITER framework to make the attack environment as realistic as possible. The tests consisted of a total of 17 attacks from four different APTs: Wizard Spider, Sandworm, Lazarus Group and Operation Wocao. Items were rated for their ability to identify weaknesses in a particular area and detect the attack at different stages.

Kaspersky EDR Expert was able to detect each of the 17 attacks at all stages and received an “Overall Accuracy Rating” of 100. This rating comes from the product’s “Sensing Accuracy” and “Legitimate Accuracy” ratings. This means that this product not only identifies all attacks, but also avoids false positives. The results placed Kaspersky in first place of the five companies whose EDR products were tested, giving SE Labs the highest possible “AAA” rating.
