The American-Brazilian company Solinftec presented its new development – the robot farmer Solix. The device can look for weeds clumps and then destroy them by “point” spraying.
The robot can move around the field independently, scanning every plant it encounters at the same time. In the process, the artificial intelligence Alice connects, who comes to a conclusion – weed or not.
According to the developers, the device automatically treats all weeds with herbicides.
Interestingly, Solix also creates a digital map of the area that shows weed detection and treatment locations.
Such a robot is reportedly capable of cultivating up to 40 hectares of soil per day. At the same time, the proposed amendment focused on land planted with wheat, soybeans and corn. The start of sales of the robot farmer is scheduled for 2023.
